BB3.3-Simulation

Belén Hernández Gascón

  • Description

Simulation of heat transfer phenomena by FEM, by CFD or by special-purpose software, such as thermal performance, temperature distribution, isolation and thermal expansion.

Provider A: Analysis of thermal performance of components and structures with specific results:
Thermal performance/efficiency of component and structures (temperature distribution, isolation, thermal efficiency)

Provider B: The services are (i) the estimation of thermal properties of multiphasic materials and (ii) analysis of thermal performance of materials, components and structures. Specifically, the service results from provider B are:
Thermal properties of the material (conductivity, expansion coefficient…).
Thermal performance/efficiency of components and structures (isolation, thermal efficiency)

  • Standardisation

While no specific certification is followed, the service employs procedures that align with internationally recognized standards.

  • Innovation features

The service combines advanced thermal simulations with ROM modeling, multiscale analysis, and experimental characterization of thermal properties and efficiency. It incorporates cutting-edge tools and methodologies, delivering robust, efficient solutions for complex thermal challenges in engineering design.

Pricing

Provider A: It depends on the complexity and type of analysis required.
Provider B:
Expected cost: Cost is estimated on a pm (135-155h/pm) basis, considering an average of the concurrent costs from manpower, specific commercial software licensing (if it is the case) and computing hardware use.
POLITO (excluding eventual additional SW licences or High Performance Computing needs): fixed cost 0.5 keuro; 1PM (4.5 keuro) equivalent (simulation).
Pricing: Proposal of pricing based on a "(Cost estimation) *BCR=Price" criterion. BCR parameter may be variable case by case and established based on a complexity/manpower expertise/singular hardware and software use basis. BCR = [1,1-1,75]

Service delivery timeframe

10-30 working days (80h-240h). Depending on the complexity timeframe can be expanded.
