BB3.8-Modeling

Belén Hernández Gascón

  • Description

Simulation of composite materials considering their complex constituent phases and structures (i.e.: base, reinforcing and isolating phases) at different size scales (micro-meso-macro).
Estimation of materials and components mechanical and thermal properties by means of homogenization techniques. Specifically:
Mechanical and thermal properties of the composite material (i.e.: Young modulus) and characteristics (ortotropy, isotropy).
Mechanical and thermal performance of the component (i.e.: stress distribution, load deflection curves, thermal conductivity…)
Simulation by means of FEM, DEM.

  • Standardisation

While no specific certification is followed, the service employs procedures that align with internationally recognized standards.

  • Innovation features

The service uses advanced FEM/DEM simulations, homogenization, and multiscale modeling, enabling precise predictions of material properties. It incorporates machine learning and experimental characterization for enhanced accuracy and efficiency, offering a cutting-edge solution for complex engineering needs.

Pricing

Cost is estimated on a pm (135-155h/pm) basis, considering an average of the concurrent costs from manpower, specific commercial software licensing (if it is the case) and computing hardware use.
Average cost rage: 4000-6000€/pm + Indirect Costs
Pricing:
Proposal of pricing based on a "(Cost estimation) *BCR=Price" criterion. BCR parameter may be variable case by case and established based on a complexity/manpower expertise/singular hardware and software use basis. BCR= [1,1-1,75]

Service delivery timeframe

10-30 working days (80h-240h). Depending on the complexity timeframe can be expanded.
